The preservation and effective use of both energy and power is becoming increasingly crucial to the way in which we live, and the efficient use of electromagnetic machinery plays a vital role in this process. Electromechanical Machinery Theory and Performance explores ways in which energy and power can be efficiently and resourcefully used, and is recommended reading for undergraduate, graduate and those at a practical level. The book is also intended for engineering students studying electric power, electric vehicles and industrial motion systems, as well as engineers of all disciplines involved in developing systems using transformers and/or rotating machines.

Providing a detailed introduction to electromagnetic machines, with a special focus on both transformers and AC rotating machines, this book gives comprehensive details of these machines and, importantly, their application. Much of this book is developed from course lecture notes and will therefore provide a thorough understanding of both electric machinery and energy conversion. Exercises, problems and calculations are included within.
